We were charged €8 to have a plate and cutlery brought to the room. At a hotel with some of the highest prices in the area, that felt petty and out of touch with the hospitality guests should be able to expect. The hotel seems to be selling a premium stay while dealing with construction, serious understaffing, and policies that make the experience worse. Waiting around 45 minutes for food became normal, and housekeeping was unreliable. We’d leave in the morning and come back around 2pm to find the room still hadn’t been made up. The hotel feels too large for the number of staff available. The people working there and the management on the ground seem to be trying their best, but goodwill can’t make up for poor hotel policy. The disruption starts as soon as you arrive. Rather than a peaceful luxury resort, the courtyard and atmosphere feel like a large construction site, and the hotel clearly isn’t operating at the level guests could reasonably expect. It used to be one of the region’s best. Now what remains is mostly its reputation and one of the area’s highest price tags. With the construction, long waits, poor service, unreliable room cleaning, and unreasonable extra charges, I’d strongly suggest reconsidering a booking. It no longer feels like the luxury hotel it once was.

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, with a great selection and such beautiful presentation. The team at Conrad Algarve made our stay memorable with their genuine friendliness and outstanding service. Special thanks to Catarina & Lara (FO), Eli & Emiel (F&D), Collins (Bar), and the lovely housekeeping team member with red braided hair whose name I didn’t catch. I’m already looking forward to coming back soon.

The people are what keep bringing us back to this hotel in the Algarve. From the porters and reception to room service, the spa team, and everyone in between, their warmth and care make us feel at home even when we’re away. Little touches and going beyond what you’d normally expect really set it apart. Our two year old is comfortable here too, and the team makes every stay easy for our family. We’ve been more than a dozen times over the past few years, so people may think I’m biased, but there’s a reason for that. Every visit has been exceptional. We chose our favourite hotel in Portugal to celebrate my 40th birthday last week. We especially love the hotel’s new style and direction, and its facilities, spa, leisure areas, bars, and restaurants all add to the experience. One of our favourite parts, besides the spa, is the newly refurbished Oliveira restaurant. Its chef, Vasco, created a culinary experience unlike any other for us. The new menu and wine list are outstanding. As a Greek and a true food lover, I can say it’s one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had anywhere. We’d strongly recommend this hotel, even for families with young children. Give it a try, but don’t blame me if you find yourself returning again and again. It really is second to none.

The location is a little remote, but by car it’s easy to reach Faro centre and nearby towns. There are also places to eat and activities at a small shopping centre nearby. We felt very welcome as Hilton Honors members, and would stay again. We spent five nights in a deluxe twin with a balcony and pool view. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and room service was timely, discreet, and thorough, especially at evening turndown. Staff throughout the property were helpful and very polite. Breakfast was served in a pleasant dining room, with fresh buffet options and dishes to order. The gardens were beautifully manicured, and the spa and several pools made the leisure facilities excellent.
