I’ve travelled all over for work and personal trips, and this is the most honest, respected hotel I’ve come across. I’d booked two rooms, but an unforeseen personal situation meant I couldn’t use the second one. Although I’d paid and the booking was non-refundable, the hotel understood and gave me a full refund of £1200. What other hotel would do that without a penalty? The staff are so nice and respectful. The place has a lovely charm, and the bed was large and comfortable. Since it was built in 1968, some things feel dated. For example, the bathrooms don’t have the large modern shower stalls you’d expect at a 4 or 5 star hotel. The breakfast was a letdown: the scrambled eggs were lukewarm, and the coffee served in individual pitchers was truly awful. It was a shock given how good Portuguese coffee is. They need to invest in a large coffee machine, something that fits a 5 star rating.

The buffet breakfast was superb, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Leonardo at reception, who helped recover my wallet after I left it in an Uber. The hotel is just minutes from the beach and Vale do Lobo attractions. I’d definitely return.

Housekeeping and the front desk were both five-star. Most other staff were friendly and efficient, but the pool bar was slow and had a very limited drinks selection. Food choices were poor, and the catering side needs a serious shake-up. Many of those staff seemed disinterested and waited for issues to come to them.

The poolside restaurant lunch was perfectly fine, and the staff throughout were friendly and service minded. Our room was spacious, clean, and well looked after. The pool faces the ocean, and the beach is an easy walk away. From outside, though, the Hotel looks like it could use some maintenance.
