For a winter golf getaway, The Magnolia Hotel has reasonably priced golf packages and refined courses. The staff are kind and helpful, and add to the hotel's atmosphere. With its associated golf courses, it offers a welcome alternative to travelling to the US for a golf vacation.

Disgusting. I got food poisoning and the only offer was to take off the chips and mayonnaise that caused it. There was no other compensation or sympathy after I spent two days in bed. Staff also tried to lie or cover up that another staff member had apparently gotten food poisoning and gone home after eating mayonnaise that had gone bad. That was the main issue, and I won't go into anything else. Avoid this place if you want a lovely trip. I've stayed in Faro, Quinta and Vilamoura several times a year for the last seven years, and this is the only place I wouldn't return to.

A lovely little hotel among the Algarve golf courses, with great service. The breakfasts were excellent.

We chose this stay based on the website's promises of a comfortable four-star hotel, but it felt like a basic roadside motel. The room smelled unpleasant, and instead of the king bed we booked, we found two single beds. The pool area was disappointing and nothing like the photos. Walking around nearby shops was nearly impossible. The property is next to a busy road with fast traffic, and it didn't feel safe to walk there. When staff realized we were unhappy and thinking about moving elsewhere, they became dismissive and unhelpful. They made no real effort to address our concerns or help us find another place. I absolutely wouldn't recommend staying here. Save your money and vacation and look elsewhere.
