Amadora Boutique Hostel

The staff were really nice and kept our room clean, making sure we had what we needed. That’s the only reason I’m giving this one star. The room was very small, with no sink in the bathroom, and the toilet was practically beside the bed. For £60 a night at a hostel in Amadora, not even Lisbon, that’s what we got.

The staff were nice, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. There’s a balcony and a well-kept kitchen or eating area, though it was cold in winter. The rooms are small but cosy, with AC, and the tiny toilet was super clean. A few things could use work: there’s no bedside light, there’s damp on the wall by the window, and while the mattress is good, the bed frame creaks with every movement. It’s expensive, but places in the area are much the same, so this ends up being the cheapest. I’d come back compared with some other local hotels.

We stayed about seven days and loved the place. The rooms were cleaned fully every day, and compared with places I’ve stayed before, it was pretty good. It’s in a good location, too. A nice, friendly place. I’d recommend it for a vacation or business trip.

We booked a double room, but when my partner and I arrived, it had bunk beds and a very small single bed instead. The room smelled of mould, the sheets were stained, and there was no shower gel or anything in the bathroom. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. We had to book another place, and we won’t be coming back.
