A decent place, but we didn’t pay close enough attention to the website and hadn’t realized there were 53 stairs up to the accommodation. The staff helped with our bags, which was kind, though our old knees still felt it.

I should have booked two nights. The old town is lovely, with walks in both directions along the river, and the place is right on the water. There’s a great selection at breakfast, and the room was warm, quiet, and had a lovely view. The little shower room was warm too, with heating. The kitchen had great facilities, with pots, pans, dishes, and mugs. I liked the period furnishings and wish I knew their history. Thank you!

We’d happily recommend it. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the shared spaces in the house and garden were lovely. Great spot in the city center, and breakfast was amazing.

The gardens are a real oasis, leafy and peaceful, built into the hillside on several levels, with a little dunk pool. We had a lovely overnight stay at this family-run guest house and hope to return for longer later this year. Everyone, from the owners to the staff, was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. They safely stored our bags before check-in, which helped a lot. The room was tidy and clean, and the air conditioner was efficient and quiet, much appreciated when it was 42C outside. Breakfast was simple but adequate, and the coffee was good. The only reason for four stars is that the bathroom felt a little tired and could use refurbishment, though it was perfectly acceptable for one night. Thanks for the generous hospitality. We’ll be back soon.
