Hotel Rural Quinta Da Cruz

The pools were a highlight, both indoors and out, and they stay open quite late. There’s also a small bar by the outdoor one for snacks. The hotel itself is a cozy mix of an old mansion feel and a more modern look. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was fine, though the shower floor doesn’t slope down enough, so water gets onto the bathroom floor easily. Staff were really nice.

A very pleasant stay. The pool was a comfortable 28-30°C, the Turkish steam room reached 50°C, and the sauna was at least 70°C, maybe hotter. Breakfast was average.

The breakfast was just perfect, and the gym and spa were great. We could also wander around the garden. I did find it a pity that some guests ignored basic pool and hygiene rules, like wearing caps and slippers, and made noise as if they were at home. It would help if staff checked the area now and then to maintain the hotel’s standards. We picked this rural hotel in its private grounds for a romantic break away from the city, to relax in the countryside. When I asked, the hotel went out of its way to make the stay feel even more special. The rooms have been renovated and were excellent, and the value was superb. We had a really enjoyable experience. Thank you, Mr Aníbal, for making it all possible and adding those romantic touches. We’d definitely like to return.

The building and gardens are beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. There’s plenty to choose from at breakfast, plus two pools and a spa area. Within a 10-minute drive we found lots of good, inexpensive restaurants. The staff are lovely and helpful, so ask them. A relaxed place for a couple of days.
