The restaurant serves great food in large portions, and breakfast was good too. The pool is small but usually not busy. It’s a charming hotel with amazing views, friendly hosts, especially in the restaurant, and clean rooms that are big enough. Some rooms do feel a bit dated, though. The twin beds were good, but our double bed was quite small, squeaky, and uncomfortable. We also found it annoying to have to ask reception for everything. We arrived to just a third of a toilet roll and no spare, and there was no soap or shampoo. I’d recommend the hotel for a night or two, but not a longer stay. One restaurant tip: the full menu costs less than ordering only a main course.

A really lovely meal, with a warm welcome and great service. The steak and squid were cooked perfectly, and the homemade traditional Portuguese desserts were excellent. Thanks for such a delicious time.

What a restaurant, in a GREAT Pousada! The food was great, and the service was just top, top, top, from the friendliest staff in the whole Solar System. I assure you, nothing less! We’d driven past the turnoff for years before finally making the trip, and it was worth it. Good food, welcoming staff, lovely views, and a blazing fire. It snowed last night!

A fine pousada, small enough to give you personal attention. A three-lane road used to spoil the peace here, but the motorway tunnel has taken its place and the calm has returned.
