This review is very late. We stayed at Casa de Chouselas in September 2019 while visiting for a wedding. The place has so much character and feels warm, with lots of the furniture and decor picked up by Olivia at flea markets and second hand shops. Our first floor room facing the road was bright, spacious, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. The area is quiet, with little traffic, so relaxing in the garden or swimming was peaceful. Olivia was a fantastic host and was happy to help with anything. There was plenty of breakfast, with lots of variety and fresh local produce. Since we were there for a family wedding, we had the whole place to ourselves. Olivia also made us a wonderful dinner featuring local specialties, along with her own wine. I can really recommend it, it goes down very easily! We'll definitely come back.

We had the whole house for 21 guests for our son's wedding in the area, and it was fantastic. Every room has its own bathroom, and the decor is one of a kind. The setting is lovely, with plenty of parking, and it's a handy base for Porto, Braga, and the rest of northern Portugal. Olivia and her family looked after us so well. Breakfast brought something different each day, including home baked cakes, crepes, homemade jams and juices, cold cuts, cheeses, and tasty local pastries. She cooked dinner for us twice, and it was delicious. Olivia also arranged restaurant bookings, airport transport, and hairdresser visits on Sunday. I wholeheartedly recommend the house, and I'm sure other guests will enjoy Olivia and her family's hospitality as much as we did.

We were welcomed by great hosts, and I felt at home with how much they tried to make us comfortable. The duplex suite had lots of room for our three kids to sleep and play. There's no kitchen in the suite, but the host was fine with us using the main one. The pool is charming, though not very big. Sadly, it loses the sun after 16h.

Meet Mrs. Olivia and enjoy the peaceful, cosy place she's created. It's surrounded by greenery and the soft sound of little streams. A real treat for your wellbeing :)
