Hotel Inglaterra

The breakfast was a real plus, with plenty to choose from and freshly cooked dishes brought to the table. They also had vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options. We felt at ease here as a same-sex couple, and every staff member made a point of checking in and helping us feel at home. We were celebrating our engagement, and Francisco and his brother Lourenço helped make the occasion feel extra special. They and the rest of the team went out of their way to support us and share in the celebration. Thank you for being so caring. We’d definitely come back.

The room was spacious and had a very good view. The cmhotel is also in a really convenient location. The room amenities could use some improvement.

The pool area and shared spaces looked really nice, which, along with the more modern room photos, was what drew us to book two nights. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, and they let us leave our rental car in the garage without an extra charge. Our room was just about acceptable for the price, but it didn't seem very clean and wasn't as nice as the pictures suggested. The bathroom felt old, the showerhead was small and cheap-looking, and the supposedly white shower curtain had turned yellow. There was no complimentary water, which seemed odd with temperatures over 30°C, and coffee capsules for the Nespresso machine cost €2 each, a bit much given the room price. We were reasonably content in the end, but wouldn't book here again.

Breakfast was consistently tasty, with lots of choice, and the location works well for both the beach and trips into the city. But the room's air conditioning didn't work, so the nights were uncomfortable, and the street by the wellness center was loud from its AC. There was also a bad smell from our bathroom that the cleaning staff couldn't get rid of. I can only partly recommend the hotel, especially not for hot months.
