I was unsure about booking an Easter family break after reading some reviews, but we ended up having a delightful stay. The setting is peaceful, surrounded by greenery, and the hotel’s Art Deco details are stunning. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the indoor pool was a relaxing spot, and the service was faultless. Dinner and breakfast were both superb. I’m so glad we went, and highly recommend it for a memorable stay.

The reception and dining room staff were really helpful. We had a charming double room with lovely views and an authentic feel. Fresh, clean linens, a lovely big bathroom, and plenty of wardrobe space too. Thank you, I’d happily recommend it.

Curia is a beautiful place, and the century-old hotel has plenty of charm. It could use modernization in several areas, though. (Curia @ 2017)

The gardens are lovely, and breakfast in the beautiful salon was very good, especially the eggs. The rooms were comfortable and renewed, and the old-school pool is a treat. With its carefully preserved 1920s architecture and furnishings, this might be Portugal’s most beautiful hotel. A must-see.

The pool is a highlight, almost Olympic in size and depth, with fresh water from the local aquifer kept clean without extra chemical treatment. There are lots of loungers and parasols, and the bar serves hot snacks like toasties and hot dogs, along with crisps and ice cream. The rooms are roomy, the bathrooms decent, though the shower could use an update. What makes the place special is the grand old-hotel feel, from the garden entrance and high stucco ceilings to the carpeted stairs, parquet floors, and original wood doorways and dividers. It feels like stepping into another era, somewhere between a French chateau and an English manor. We had a lovely stay.
