Francisco and Lucilia made us feel very welcome. Be sure to set aside time to hear Francisco’s stories about the Azores, and don’t miss the legendary breakfast. The beautiful country mansion is just a few minutes from Angra, with a charming garden right beside the rooms.

Francisco and Lucília were excellent hosts, and breakfast with them made for a truly memorable start to the day. We found the traditional Quinta very comfortable. It’s part of the bikotel network and a very bike friendly place to stay. We’ll return.

We felt at home with the owners right away. Breakfast with them was the highlight: homemade jams, cheeses from around the islands, and lots of enjoyable conversation about island history and culture. Don’t miss it. The place is historic and modern at once, and we spent a week of our honeymoon here. Rooms are very clean, the water stays very hot if that’s what you like, and the old beds, three to five times older than you, are really comfortable. There’s fast wifi throughout, handy for planning a nature trip or restaurant. The capital and Terceira’s nature are only minutes away. Next time we visit the Azores, we’ll start right here. Highly recommended!

We spent two nights here and would gladly stay again. It’s an authentically renovated old Azorean building, owned by Francesco and his wife, about ten minutes from Angra and well placed for exploring the island by car. Breakfast is excellent, with a wide choice of local cheeses and other delicacies, and sharing it with the owners gives you a chance to hear lots about Terceira and the Acores. That setup felt a little strange to us beforehand. One thing to bear in mind: the road outside the two rooms makes sleeping with the window open difficult. There aren’t many cars at night, but they drive fast and pass so close that we expected to be woken a few times. We paid 80€ a night including breakfast.
