The rooms are compact, but each has its own bathroom and looks out over the river and village. The view is fabulous. This is a lovely little family hotel in the beautiful hamlet of Piódão, and the woman who runs it was kind, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was included and served in what looked like the family’s beautiful dining room, with another river view. There was a generous spread of local cheese, ham and sausage, homemade marmalades, several kinds of bread, coffee, tea, juice, and fruit. Such a nice way to start the day. I highly recommend this charming hotel.

With quiet nature all around, it’s a lovely change from busy city life. Waking up to birdsong and trying local flavors feels refreshing. A charming choice if you’re after comfort, authenticity, and a personal touch. Highly recommended!

The drive on the winding road was well worth it. Once you reach the town of Piodão, the place is clean and easy to find, and the owner made us an amazing homemade breakfast. One tip: bring a small overnight bag, because dragging luggage over the very rocky streets is difficult.

We couldn’t book through Casa de Paderia because it was full, so she took us to a delightful house just a few doors away. It had been beautifully restored to a high standard while keeping its rustic charm. Our room had an amazing view, and the place was right in the center. Really gorgeous!

We had to keep to a schedule, so we couldn’t take our time over breakfast, which was our own doing. It was perfect, though, and the place was clean and friendly, with views that can’t be beat.
