The location is hard to beat for a visit to Passadiços de Paiva, and there’s a nice restaurant just 100 meters away. The house has what you need, with a kitchen just for you and a fridge stocked with breakfast items. The owners are extremely nice, and the lady makes an amazing sponge cake. If you call the owner about 10 minutes before you finish the walking route at Passadiços, he can pick you up for a small fee.

We got to see it snow, and we’ll definitely return to Casa de Vilarinho. The hosts were wonderful, and the pão de ló was so good we could have cried for more. They were also so sweet to let us rehearse for our show. I’d warmly recommend Casa de Vilarinho for a getaway in Serra da Freita.

I stayed here two years ago, before the fire in September 2024. The walkways have burned down again this time, and I hope the house is okay. It’s awful to see the forest disaster, and I hope they recover soon and can carry on with their business. Thanks for looking after us. Hang in there. This is a great place to stay when visiting the Paiva bridge and walkways.

A lovely setting for unwinding, with everything you need at the house and no noise at all. It’s ideal for families or a stopover. We stayed here after our Arouca Bridge excursion. If you do the same, ask the owner about the return trips he runs in Jeeps.
