We completely fell for this place. It feels warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and cozy rooms that somehow stay cool through the heat of the day. The natural setting is beautiful, and there are some amazing, affordable restaurants within walking distance. For sightseeing and getting around, we’d suggest renting a car since public transport isn’t always available. Greetings from the Netherlands, k & j.

The panoramic view from this rural quinta is excellent, and Sr. Pedro, the host and manager, is kind and attentive to guests. The pool is adequate, but the tennis court and mini golf need some care. The dirt road leading to the quinta is in poor condition. Breakfast is only available at a pastry shop in central Arouca, about 15 minutes on foot or 3 minutes by car. I’d come back. Thank you.

A lovely pool and pool area, and the house is very close to central Arouca, so it’s easy to enjoy what the town offers. The facilities are pleasant, with a few appliances in the shared area for making a small meal. Breakfast is a perfect start to the day: everything is fresh, including Tucha’s homemade jams. And you get to share the table with Sr Pedro, who makes the house feel special. He’s great company and always has stories to tell. That homely atmosphere is a real treasure in the age of hotels and buffets. Make the most of it if you can!

Sr Pedro really knows how to welcome guests. He has maps and leaflets about the town and gives helpful tips. Breakfast is fantastic, served at a long shared table where guests can chat and get to know one another. The house and rooms are clean, and the pool is fenced with neatly trimmed grass around it.
