Solar de Arraiolos

Getting here is tricky: it's hard to find and you can't reach it by car. The best bet is to park in front and walk, and make sure you watch for the house number. Once there, it has a wonderful castle-like feel. The breakfast is prepared with a lot of care, and everyone sits together at one table.

I loved the decor throughout the house, and the room and bathroom were comfortable. Breakfast was good.

We came for a restful weekend and couldn't have chosen better. The manor is right in the centre of Arraiolos, within walking distance of the castle, town hall, pillory and restaurants. There's also a supermarket, Intermarché, a short distance away, and a Mini Preço 100 metres away. Our room was excellent, with a king-size bed, AC, a shower with two showerheads and a huge TV. The place has great facilities, including a pool and activities like table tennis, foosball and snooker. Pool towels are included as well. Breakfast wasn't the most varied, but it had all the essentials, in good quality and quantity. We were completely satisfied with our choice and know where we'll stay next time we're in the area.

Breakfast only starts at 9 am, which is too late, and it's served in a room that badly needs heating. This isn't a “real” hotel, but a guesthouse. There's no nearby parking unless you're fit enough to climb a steep street. There are much better options in the area, and we'll choose one next time.
