10/10
I was here for three nights on a business trip and stayed in the suite on the first floor. It had a small lounge with a television and a narrow balcony looking out over the water, where it was great to watch the boats on the canal. The suite was clean and comfortable. This is the oldest hotel in town, upgraded to a high standard in 2013, and it’s in an excellent location. Breakfast is continental, with fantastic scrambled eggs and excellent coffee. I can’t comment on the standard rooms.

Our room was much smaller than everyone else’s, and it had a sour perfume smell. Opening the windows didn’t get rid of it, so it may be coming from the walls or furniture.

10/10
The common areas were really nice, and breakfast was good. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms are small, but laid out well, and the location’s perfect for seeing Aveiro’s sights.

8/10
The hotel’s been updated and is now modern and very comfortable. The staff are kind, and breakfast is excellent. I gave it four stars because the price felt a little higher than I expected for rooms of this size.
