Aveiro Urban Loft

The host wouldn't cooperate or respond, so we left just a couple of hours after arriving. The place was dirty, with red stains on a living room pillow and white stains on one in the bedroom. Several lights didn't work, and it smelled of cigarettes. Parking was a mess if you hadn't reserved the garage attached to the unit.

Such a lovely, cozy loft.

The parking was a big reason we booked, but only after the reservation did they ask for another €10 if we wanted to use it. We messaged the host to say we were unhappy about this and waited quite a while for a reply. They said the terms had already been changed. Apparently that happened after we complained. Cleanliness was another serious problem. There wasn't much care taken in the bathroom or common areas, and the bathroom didn't look properly cleaned. Several details gave the impression that upkeep and cleaning had been neglected. The green buildup in the coffee machine's water tank was the most shocking thing in the photos I took. You pay for a stay and still get this lack of hygiene. Cleanliness matters for feeling comfortable and safe, and that wasn't provided here. I hope management pays closer attention so future guests have a better experience. Horrible stay!

The owner cancelled on us twice, giving different reasons they couldn't accommodate us. A few days later each time, the place showed up as available again, but at a higher price: €113 a night for the first booking, €298 for two nights the second time, and €429 for the last offer, which I obviously didn't book. The cancellations came with no explanation at all. The booking practices are poor, and despite how attractive the place may look, I advise against staying there. You could be left without accommodation at the last minute.
