Casa D'Oliveira

Breakfast was delicious, and Ana and her daughter were wonderful hosts who always looked after our well-being. Casa D’Oliveira is beautiful, very clean, and peaceful and quiet. It really feels like a hidden secret, a perfect place to recharge. Thank you so much.

The house is elegant and renovated, and the breakfasts were generous. The owner and her daughter were superb. It's a great spot to relax away from the hustle and bustle, with the city center only a short drive away. We recommend it.

Our stay was cancelled by the host, and no refund was issued by them. We can't give an objective opinion about the rooms, service, or location as we never stayed there. We'd been planning our Portugal trip since January, and Casa d'Oliveira was meant to be our fourth stop out of eight. On June 30th, just a month before we were due to leave, the host got in touch to say a technical issue meant they couldn't accommodate us. These things can happen. We then spent more than two hours looking for replacement accommodation nearby and within our budget, which came with unexpected extra costs. That wasn't a problem in itself because we had free cancellation with Casa d'Oliveira. But during booking, we had to confirm payment on the official website, and the charge was taken from our account in Booking's name. That was completely wrong, and Booking identified the issue and escalated it to management. After the cancellation was accepted, the host stopped replying and didn't respond to Booking's requests either. We also tried contacting them through the website contact form and got no answer. It took over three weeks of fighting to get the money back. Booking finally reimbursed us today, even though we'd paid the hotel directly. This is simply UNACCEPTABLE, and it's a shame things turned out this way. If the host is having difficulties, we shouldn't have to bear the consequences. Booking also confirmed that they have a second case pending for the same issue on the same dates. We're simply disappointed.

The woman who helped us was incredibly friendly, and breakfast was fantastic. The hotel was quiet, super clean, and decorated with great taste. It's a little farther from the city center, but you can easily walk to a nearby marshland area that's well worth seeing. I'd definitely come back!
