Suites & Hostel Cidade Aveiro

I found the quiet and privacy especially nice. My stay felt perfect, and the daily cleaning was a pleasant surprise at such an affordable price. The new, clean room had everything I needed, including a big mirror, desk, comfortable bed, small balcony, and a TV with nearly 300 channels. They even limit the remote's volume so it won’t disturb other guests. Three towels were provided. The hotel is near everything but remains peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful, always smiling, and ready to assist after reception closes with a 24-hour emergency contact number. Check-in was quick and pleasant, and there’s an elevator despite the hotel having only a few floors. I’d highly recommend it. The quality felt like that of some expensive multi-star hotels.

I normally wouldn’t write a review like this, but after a difficult trip we arrived a little late to check in, at 10 pm. A technical problem meant we couldn’t communicate using our phone. The man was leaving and slammed the door in our faces, saying we were too late and had to find another hotel. Then he left quickly, leaving us on the pavement with our 2 kids. We slept in our car. That’s not acceptable.

The room wasn’t very spacious, but it had everything I needed and was extremely clean, even by my germophobe standards. The staff were very kind and friendly. I could hear almost everything from next door because the walls weren’t well insulated, especially with a loudmouthed neighbor. One thing to know: if you want breakfast at the hostel, you have to request it when you book. You can’t add it when you arrive.

I’ve never stayed in such a wonderful dormitory. The room was amazingly clean, and they provided a bath mat, two bath towels, shower gel, soap, and a plastic cup. There’s a hair dryer in the bathroom too. The staff were welcoming and spoke English fluently. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and the facilities were explained clearly. I highly recommend this hostel.
