Agroturismo Herdade Fonte Ferreira

I was there for a wedding, and the room ended up spoiling my mood. I'm 63, and my room was upstairs with a very low doorway, about half my height. I hit my head on the first day, then had to keep my knees bent and my head tucked whenever I went inside because the ceiling sloped too low to stand straight. The lady kindly offered us another room, but my two sons and I had already unpacked and were only staying two nights, so we decided to stay put. I regretted that almost immediately. The house entrance key never worked, so every time I came back I had to knock on a guest's window and ask them to let me in, once at 5 a.m. It was really annoying. This could be a nice place, but that room should be for very small children. I didn't take photos, unfortunately, so I can't show just how low it was.

The scenery and an afternoon at the pool earned the two stars. The place is out in the rural countryside of Avis, but the attic room wasn't cozy or very clean, and there was a wasp nest by the ceiling window. I'm 1.78 m and found the bed too small. The bathroom was decrepit and separate from the room. Breakfast was meant to be at 8:00 a.m. but didn't arrive until 9:15, and nobody offered guests an explanation. There's clearly plenty to improve.

Worst stay I've had. There's no staff on site, so you have to call someone and wait around 30 minutes for them to show up, even for check-in. No breakfast, the TV didn't work, and I assume the Wi-Fi didn't either. I didn't even try since nobody gave us instructions.

Good place, though it needs some maintenance.
