When our flights were canceled, which felt like an ongoing struggle with the weather, they held a room for us and made our unexpected return seamless. We were exhausted, and their communication and kindness meant a lot. The staff were amazing, especially Daniela, who hosted breakfast and cooked brilliantly. Thanks also to Marta, Enrique and Ana Rita. Our room had a spectacular view of Pico mountain, and we loved having an outdoor shower and private pool. The hotel is surrounded by lava and vines, with a sheltered, cozy feel. Breakfast was amazing, and there’s a beautiful indoor heated pool too. It’s an oasis close to the airport, wineries and lots of great restaurants. We were so glad we chose this one over the other nearby winery hotels. Absolutely stellar customer service.
The location is perfect, and they even tailored my breakfast for my food allergies. Daniela was so kind and an amazing baker, and we enjoyed the baked goods they offered every day. It’s a beautiful, cozy, new place. Loved staying here, thank you!
The hotel’s facilities were modern, well maintained and immaculately clean. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed and spotless, with a great mix of comfort and elegance and lovely touches that made the stay feel special. From the moment we arrived, the whole staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Every interaction was warm, professional, pleasant and thoughtful. Pico Vineyard exceeded every expectation.
The grounds feel sheltered and private, with partial ocean views and a stunning mountain vista. Madelina is about a 10-minute drive, and Mt. Pico is around 30 minutes away. Breakfast is included and served in a pretty lounge room, with eggs and coffee made any way you like. The hotel is new, only nine months old when I wrote this, and owned by a local family. Staff were welcoming, with several helpful people attending to each group. The rooms look much larger in person than they do in the photos. I’d also recommend the wine tasting whether or not you stay here. The white wines were really distinctive because of their high salinity and acidity, and I enjoyed them even though I usually prefer reds. Their sommelier was kind and knowledgeable, and we ended up talking with her in the wine cave for hours. I highly recommend staying here!
I’m almost afraid to post this because the hotel may get so popular that I’ll need to book a year ahead. The guest houses are built into the volcanic hillside, with ocean views on one side and Mt Pico on the other. The villas mimic Pico’s maze-like wine vineyards. Our room felt like a small volcanic rock guest house, with stunning Mt. Pico views, a private pool, a separate living space and an unbelievable outdoor shower connected to the bathroom. From the bed, Mt. Pico greeted us in the morning and seemed to say goodnight as the sun went down. We didn’t get to try the indoor pool, but the building and pool looked gorgeous. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and breakfast was delicious every morning, with homemade breads, meat, cheese, fruit and eggs cooked to order. Our wine tasting was in an incredible underground space. A spiral staircase from reception led down to a tunnel displaying vineyard tools and pictures, then opened into a contemporary wood-paneled tasting room with a huge piece of volcanic rock at its center. The tasting was very well done and packed with excellent information about the wines, Pico and the property. We met the gracious owner, Pedro, and his sister Daniela is the chef. Christine, who led our tasting, said she had known the owner for years. It felt like they were all connected somehow. Book before everyone finds out how special this place is!
