Casa de Panque

My granddaughter said the house felt very homely, and the comfortable beds and spotless rooms made for a lovely few days. The lawn, pool and sitting areas were beautiful. It's a quiet spot with easy access to plenty to see and do, and the host was friendly and knowledgeable. The photos give a sense of the property's size, including outbuildings with extra bathroom and utility areas. Highly recommended.

The best part of Casa de Panque was how warm Hugo and his lovely family made us feel. They welcomed us with local wine and cheese, and Hugo clearly loves the property his family restored. He was keen for us to enjoy the house and Northern Portugal, and had plenty of tips on places to visit. We'd happily come back and keep exploring the region. Our three children spent hours in the pool and on the mini football pitch, including a very entertaining Ireland vs Portugal match with Hugo and his family. During our week at the start of June, we also enjoyed trips to Ponte de Lima, Viana de Castelo, Porto and Braga. Bom Jesus do Monte, just outside Braga, was well worth seeing. We loved the sandy beaches at Viana de Castelo, and Porto had lots of interesting places to explore. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the facilities we needed. It feels like a well-cared-for home, with carefully chosen furnishings and meticulous grounds. The garden, play area and pool were maintained to a high standard, and there were plenty of comfortable spots to relax. We could lounge in the hammock looking over the eucalyptus forests, sit by the pool, or eat local food on the terrace. Wherever we settled, the place felt peaceful. Casa de Panque is special, and we highly recommend it. Thanks to Hugo and his family for a wonderful holiday.

We had a great holiday here. The owners were lovely, and the neighbourhood was so quiet. The house and its surroundings came close to perfect.
