Boutique Hotel Casa do Outeiro - Arts & Crafts

We stayed here on a family holiday with our small children, and the kids’ room with activities was great. The pool was fantastic, and our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was superb. It’s a cozy, family-run place, and the staff were attentive and courteous to all of us. This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ll be back.

The location made getting around easy, with the main sights and late-opening restaurants within walking distance, and supermarkets and roads to other regional attractions close by. The hotel is well organized, nicely decorated, and child friendly. Blinds in the room, rather than just curtains, made a real difference to keeping it dark and sleeping well. The room itself was good, though a table and more bathroom storage for belongings would have made it more comfortable. There are only three parking spaces in front, but finding a spot nearby was easy. An electric car can be charged for €15 per night using a regular socket and your own cable. That’s useful when public chargers are busy, though the charge is quite slow. Staff could communicate in different languages, so language wasn’t an issue for foreigners, but the service varied a lot by person. We met some very friendly people and others who were rude or unwilling to help.

The hotel is lovely, and the staff are friendly. I appreciated how considerate it is toward children. Breakfast was a treat, with homemade yogurt and jams, and the pools were clean. The outdoor bathhouse looks like the oldest part, but it was still very clean and tidy.

The room was delightful, and the breakfasts were fabulous. The staff were wonderful too. This is such a lovely place, just a short walk from the amazingly beautiful monastery.
