Breakfasts were more like banquets, with delicious homemade cakes from Delilah, who took such good care of us. We spent four gloriously warm, sunny days in October, surrounded by peace, birdsong, and the tinkling of sheep bells. There was no traffic noise at all; it felt like stepping back in time. A wonderful place to relax, meet the friendly donkeys, sit by the pool, walk in the nature reserve, or pop into Beira for a coffee. Marvão, Castelo de Vide, and Portagem are an easy trip away. We hope to return soon.

A peaceful, quiet place to stay and a great base for visiting nearby places like Marvão and Castelo de Vide. Highly recommended.

The owners are very nice and provide good service. It’s a beautiful, quiet spot, with a pleasant swimming pool and sweet animals.

We were a small group of longtime friends and booked all the available rooms. Tapada da Rabela’s team were so friendly, which made for a lovely stay full of good company. The facilities were great and breakfast very good. The pool and its surroundings are charming, and it was fun seeing the animals, especially the donkeys coming over to greet us by the wall. Ideal if you’re doing the Rail Bike ride.

We fed the little donkeys, and the place was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was okay. Great for anyone doing RailBike, though we couldn’t get a spot ourselves. Parking is on the street, but there’s no problem with that. Everything went well.
