We loved relaxing by the indoor fire pit in the evening with a drink. The restaurant on site, which has a Michelin star, was another highlight, with excellent food and a lovely take on local flavours. From arrival, the staff were warm and attentive, and the setting is stunning. Pousada de Bragança made for a comfortable, elegant stay, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bragança.

The castle view was the one real plus. Staff suggested driving there because the walk is long and steep, which wasn't what we wanted to hear after a five-hour drive. The hotel was clean, the service was good, and breakfast was very good. But the Pousada felt dated, like an 80s hotel, with no charm or character. We skipped the Michelin restaurant because the prices and menu didn't seem justified by the run-down surroundings.

Breakfast was good quality, though the room was quite busy. The staff were consistently pleasant, professional, and helpful. Our room was spacious and spotless, and the bed was extraordinarily comfortable, so we slept well. The accommodation really added to our visit to Bragança, and we'd happily stay again.

The check-in team and the people at breakfast were very helpful. In the evening, though, the staff seemed too busy maintaining appearances for the restaurant, or simply didn't bother with guests who hadn't booked there. After 7:00pm, we were left to ourselves in the lounge and bar. I've stayed at many Portuguese Pousadas over the past seven years, each with its own atmosphere and style, but this one surprised me as a three-story 1980s hotel with little historical character.

We liked the feel of the rooms, even though the decor isn't modern, and everything was very well maintained. The Michelin star restaurant downstairs made this a great choice for a romantic gourmet weekend. Breakfast was very good, and Natalia was the nicest hotel employee when we checked in. Keep the same formula and quality of hospitality.
