Hotel Dona Leonor

The room smelled bad and was dirty, and the overall condition was horrible. The staff, though, were kind and friendly. I also didn't understand the rule requiring guests to hand their keys to reception when leaving. The bathroom had problems with hot water too, so I can only give one star.

We needed to be near the hospital, and this hotel's central location worked well. It's a very small, traditional older European place, but it was clean, with helpful and very nice staff. Parking was easy in the underground garage, and there is an elevator. There are good restaurants nearby, including Copacabana, and I liked the continental breakfast. The bed was hard, though I've been finding that with beds throughout Portugal.

The rooms weren't fancy, but they were comfortable, and the hotel was good value for money. We had a really good stay at Hotel Dona Leonor, which is very well located. Service was great too. The night receptionist was kind, attentive and efficient. I'd happily come back.

After reading so many negative reviews, I was surprised in a good way when I arrived. For what we paid, the room was up to standard, with clean sheets and floors, and it was right in the town centre. The bathroom was a little old but kept clean, and the room was a comfortable middle size. Staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including juice and bread. The older man serving it really made our day. He welcomed us warmly, asked about our room and the food, and gave us a lovely smile.
