The Fig Boutique Suites

The Fig Boutique and Suites in Salir do Porto feels like a little slice of paradise. It’s off the beaten path on the Lisbon-to-Porto route, but this resort-style place was well worth booking. Canadians Lisa and Rob have thought of so many details to make guests comfortable. The property is gorgeous, with a pristine pool, Bali-style egg-shaped beds, patio furniture, exotic plants, and stone paths leading to the suites. Ned and D-O-G, two friendly dogs, might make an appearance. Our two-year-old loved them. The suites are two-storey units, with two bedrooms upstairs and a fully equipped kitchen and family room downstairs. We had a microwave, gas stove, kettle, French press, fridge, cutlery, and plates, plus a TV with Netflix. Coffee, tea, oil, salt, and pepper were supplied. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and there was both air conditioning and heating. The decor was stylish, with The Fig branded robes, slippers, and coffee cups. The main-floor bathroom has a high rain-style shower head, unlike the waist-high hand showers I’ve usually seen in Lisbon. The separate common area has an oven, popcorn maker, dart board, maps and itineraries, and an honesty bar stocked with wine and champagne to pay for at checkout. Outside, there are hammocks and tables for eating on the porch. Lisa even offered to pick up groceries for our group, arranged a taxi for dinner, and shared excellent food recommendations for meat and fish. Our group of six stayed in two adjacent suites and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d happily give the place and its owners five stars.

The view and pool were even better than the already perfect suites when we stayed in October 2018. Rob and Lisa, the owners, were wonderful and full of helpful local knowledge. The location is ideal for exploring the Silver Coast. I highly recommend The Fig!

We were so glad to find this lovely place for a week while exploring Costa de Prata, just north of Lisbon. It feels like a resort, but without the crowds. The apartments are tastefully furnished, with lovely linens and very comfortable beds, and the pool is incredible. The owners are kind and helpful, and all their recommendations were spot on. We’re planning to come back with our extended family.

The apartments are well equipped, and the pool and its surroundings are beautiful. The owners are very helpful and make you feel at home. A beautiful place to stay.
