The shop has a good selection of local produce, though prices are fairly high. For the view, turn left just before the tunnel to the Valley of the nuns and follow the road. The building is visible from the valley, and once you arrive there's a path of about 400m to walk along. The scenery is truly spectacular.

The hotel had everything we needed, including a swimming pool, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, sauna, souvenir shop, restaurant, and cafe. The hospitality and friendly staff were excellent, and the views were amazing. It was great value for the cost. I'd recommend it 100% if you're after a relaxing holiday.

Eira do Serrado was a real gem when we stayed in mid-December this year. The spectacular views filled the huge room windows, and the rooms were very clean. There was also a fridge and safe. With so few guests at that time of year, breakfast was cooked to order. The choices included beans, bacon, scrambled or fried eggs, and mushrooms, along with the usual pastries, cereal, bread, yoghurt, and continental options. The staff were all friendly and happy to help. A rental car is vital, but we found it easy to drive all around the island.

The hikes were well worth it, and the mountain views were stunning. We had a clean, spacious, beautiful room, and the hotel staff made us feel very welcome. What an amazing hotel. Highly recommend, and all the best!

The view was amazing and breakfast was good. The spa section closes at 19:00, and the water was a little dirty.
