We were sorry to leave after five nights at Vila Afonso. With just a few rooms, it’s quiet, and the garden is gorgeous, with palm trees, flowers, exotic fruits, and a wonderful view over the city and ocean. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, while the breakfast and indoor saltwater pool were both great. The owners were really nice and helpful, and the place is well located for exploring the island by rental car. There’s free parking on the street and on the property. Viola is only a two-minute walk away. It’s meant to be the best Espetada restaurant in town, and I agree. Try the filet Espetada. We wish we could’ve stayed longer and will definitely return. Vila Afonso made our Madeira trip perfect. Cheers, Kristina & Andy from Germany.

For 14 days, Teresa and Ben did everything they could to make our holiday wonderful. They’re lovely hosts, and the accommodation is more than nice. The breakfast view was unbelievable, maybe the best we’ve ever had. Thank you, Teresa and Ben!

The room was brilliant, and there’s a lovely covered pool that’s very inviting. This is an amazing oasis on the south coast, looking out over Camara de Lobos, with excellent gardens, vineyards, and service. I highly recommend staying here.
