My favorite parts were the Honor Bar and the Tower. The wine cellar has been turned into a full bar, and it's something you have to see to believe. You serve yourself and tell them at checkout what you had. We took photos to keep track. The cellar also seemed set up for wedding receptions or dancing. And definitely climb the Tower's spiral stairs for the breathtaking 360-degree views. Hold on tight up there! We enjoyed quiet time on the spacious grounds and watching the sunsets. Breakfast was included, a generous continental spread. The rooms were comfortable, with great showers. Everywhere in this restored Victorian mansion there was something to catch your eye, from the pictures, furniture, and relics to the architecture, history, and lovely grounds. By far the most fabulous and beautiful place I've stayed. We enjoyed it more than anywhere else on our trip.

We enjoyed hanging out in the shared rooms and around the grounds. After our long bike ride, the plunge pool was refreshing. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. The mansion is beautifully restored and looked after, with a comfortable room and an updated bathroom that still has historic charm. The turret deck has spectacular views.

Beautiful views and excellent service at what I think is the best place in the north of Portugal. The brunch was my favorite, with so much tasty, beautifully presented food. An amazing stay! People who say there wasn't enough food must be used to places where 10 euros gets you stuffed with food of dubious quality. I feel sorry for you. Good luck and prosperity to Villa and her staff. We stayed in the original Owners suite and had our wedding photos taken here. The place was beautiful, with history, so much to look at, and amazing views. I've never seen a bathroom prettier than this one, and the tower views were exceptional. The grounds were lovely too. The owners were wonderful hosts, made us feel at home, and were so accommodating. Thanks for helping make our wedding dreams come true!

It's a really nice, cozy place in a great, central location. The service was so friendly, and breakfast was fantastic. Their homemade cakes are really, really good. If noise bothers you, I'd ask for a room facing the courtyard or away from the sea. The sea-view rooms are lovely, but the main road and train line are just across the street.
