That ocean view at Inn & Art Restaurant made Christmas dinner feel very romantic, and the service was top-notch. The meal was a disappointment, though. My husband's Espetada was quite dry, and the suckling pig was only okay. I'd go for drinks and the atmosphere, but the food didn't suit our taste.

The room was noisy, and we woke early when the kitchen started up because we could hear everything. Breakfast choices were limited, though the man serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful. At checkout, the receptionist was much less welcoming. She charged us € 4,- for a bottle of water after we'd taken a sip, because we assumed it was complimentary, as it had been at other hotels. The money didn't bother me, but when I asked if we could keep the rest, she said no, they'd keep the bottle for its cashback. It's ridiculous and a bit sad, but mostly just unwelcoming. They could have added € 4,- to the room and treated guests kindly. We cancelled our lunch there after that. I hope the cashback was worth it.

We haven't stayed overnight, but we've eaten at the restaurant several times. It's a lovely spot for food, a drink or just coffee, and the staff are warm and attentive.

A lovely way to begin our holiday. On our first night in Madeira, we had dinner out on the terrace, slept really well, then enjoyed breakfast as the sun came up the next morning. We had a great stay.
