Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety. The pools, sauna, and thoughtfully arranged relaxation areas were excellent, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel has a breathtaking view and beautifully maintained grounds. The one upsetting thing was seeing a woman each day with a bird tied to a rope, struggling in captivity. It felt especially sad amid the extraordinary beauty of this stunning island.

Sunrise and sunset over the sea were wonderful, and the airport is only a 10-minute drive away. The hotel has so much on site that there's no need to go elsewhere; the in-house pizzeria was handy for dinner, and breakfast had an extensive menu. Our room had a mini fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, and working air conditioning. The rooms, hallways, restaurants, and shared spaces were all very clean and tidy. The interiors were classy, it was soundproof, the sea view was good, and the facilities were amazing. Most of all, the staff were welcoming and courteous. Special mention to Theresa at the front desk, who made our stay very convenient.

They upgraded us to a suite because it was my birthday when we arrived, which was a lovely surprise. The room was incredible, with amazing views, especially at sunrise. Staff were lovely, the location was good, and there are plenty of car hire places nearby. A Bolt into Funchal costs only 10 Euro. Breakfast was decent, with lots of options, including GF choices and an egg station for omelettes. A lovely place all around.

Sentido was great value and made a perfect base for exploring the island. I was really impressed with my week there. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, and the pools and coastal views were amazing.

We loved every second of our first trip to Madeira. The scenery on the day trips to the east and west was simply stunning, and there's lots to see in Funchal. We took the bus from a nearby stop a few times, it cost little and took about 30 minutes at most. Booking taxis with the Bolt app was reasonably priced too. Sentido Galosal was lovely, with friendly staff and spotless, spacious rooms with balconies. Ours had a side sea view that actually stretched 180 degrees. We booked seven nights of bed and breakfast from 9 - 15 February and were lucky to have glorious weather. We ate breakfast outside most days, a welcome change from the rain back home. There are a few nice restaurants and cafes a short walk away. It was quiet, though that may have been because we were there out of season.
