Cascais Casa Laranja

We came for Ironman and stayed on to explore. The house is spectacularly designed and very well appointed, with a huge room and a great en suite. Our child had a fantastic time in the pool, which Carlos kindly heated for him, and Carlos was kind and accommodating throughout our stay. We didn’t book breakfast because we usually like to find places ourselves, but after seeing it, we really wished we had. It’s about a 10-minute drive from town and 20-30 minutes from the historical sites and Lisburn, so a good base for exploring. We didn’t think much of the main town for meals, but highly recommend Da Guia for its food, atmosphere, and some parking. For ice cream, head to Inferno.

The breakfast was a highlight, fresh fruit and made to order, and the open living room, terrace, and pool made it easy to relax after a day in Lisbon or cascais. The host was great, and the luxurious guest house made us feel welcome and comfortable.

We rented the whole house, and the owners had thought through every detail. All the rooms were tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. The beautiful living and dining rooms open onto two terraces. Breakfast was incredible, with great-quality ingredients that were always fresh. When there was even a little wind, blankets appeared for breakfast. The pool was a blissful 29 degrees, and the immaculate garden was lovely for children. We highly recommend staying here. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood near Cascais and the beaches, though having a car is a good idea. During Covid-19, the owners took great care with hygiene. They and the housekeeper wore masks and gloves when appropriate, and disinfectants were available throughout. If you rent rooms, there are enough separate spaces to keep a distance. We felt completely safe.

Carlos gave us a warm welcome and offered excellent recommendations. Casa Laranja Guest House was just right for my husband and me in Cascais. We stayed in the Applesin room, which was bright and comfortable, and the whole house looked beautifully appointed inside and out. The open entertaining space, breakfast bar, and fireplace felt cozy and inviting. Outside, the lawn and pool were stunning and a lovely place to relax. There’s convenient on-site parking and bicycles to use. Breakfast was divine, with plenty of fresh fruit, cured meats, yogurts, and cheeses. Casa Laranja is a must-book if you need a place in Cascais or near Lisbon.
