The gym was decent, but even its equipment wasn't maintained properly. The spa was disappointing too: the sauna was out of service and half the jacuzzi wasn't working. For a hotel with five stars, the place isn't relaxing or worth recommending. The decor looks awful to me, like a mix of my grandparents' house and a renovation done without taste. There's not even a coffee machine in the rooms. We paid for our stay in advance, but when we wanted a drink at the bar, they kept chasing us to go to reception and pay 150 eur. Breakfast was very basic, and the boiled eggs seemed a week old. The waiters were nice, and I feel sorry for them. Trying to have tea in the afternoon meant dealing with “work in progress” and a hammer machine in the background.

We had a two-bedroom corner suite at the end of our Portugal trip in early October, and the balcony views were unreal, easily among the best on the coast. We spent two nights and absolutely loved our stay. The hotel has an elegant, comfortable, old-school luxury feel. It's a little dated, but that adds to its charm. The weather was perfect and the location couldn't be better: the beach is a few minutes' walk, and about 30 restaurants are within easy walking distance. Cascais is a charming beach town, relaxed and beautiful, with lots of character. If you're visiting Lisbon, spend at least a night here. It's worth it. The only small letdown was that the hotel's food was pricey and just okay. Everything else, from the views and service to the overall atmosphere, made up for it. I'd come back.

I attended the euroPLX 90 summit at Hotel Cascais Miragem and was shocked by management's lack of professional ethics. A duplicate booking error had unknowingly reserved me at two hotels. On the first morning of the event, while I was at the Miragem for the summit, the hotel emailed to say they had expected me the night before. I went straight to the lobby to sort out the administrative mistake in person. The hotel admitted it was fully booked, so it had suffered no loss and had likely resold the room. Even so, management insisted on charging the full 100% “No-Show” penalty. I offered several compromise options, including a credit voucher or a 50% penalty, but management rejected them all outright, with the Deputy Financial Manager copied in. Charging a walk-in guest while also taking a full penalty from a delegate standing in the lobby feels predatory for a five-star hotel.

I was here for four days for a company event. The room was huge and clean, but it was hard to keep the temperature steady, and the air conditioning blew directly onto the bed. Breakfast was amazing, with omelets cooked in grease, loads of bread, cold cuts, marmalade, hot options, and freshly cut fruit. The pool area was cozy and had a great sea view. I didn't spend much time outside because the Clara storm was passing through, but I can imagine how nice it'd be in summer. The staff were very friendly and service minded.

The spa was a standout for me. I tried the full-body deep tissue massage and came out feeling like I was floating. Breakfast was lovely too, especially on the third floor, with the ocean and boats in view. The food was beautifully prepared. The people here made a big impression. Housekeeping was meticulous, the front-of-house team was among the best I’ve come across, and Luke from South Africa made my arrival feel easy and welcoming. He was kind, professional, and always keen to help. I’m sure he’ll go far. Everyone was warm and attentive, and service went beyond what I expected. The building itself is grand and timeless, with a breathtaking design. I was impressed from the moment I walked into the elegant lobby. I’d booked on a whim after extending my time in Cascais, and it turned out to be one of my best decisions. A phenomenal, unforgettable stay.
