Legasea Cascais

The restaurant has a beautiful terrace, and its pizzas are among the best Neapolitan ones I’ve eaten. I visit Italy twice a year, so that’s saying something. Breakfast outdoors was delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly. Our room had detailed furnishings, a huge bathroom and a large bed. Great location too. Parking was a bit difficult.

Varina was a superior room with a private bathroom, but no TV, which I hadn’t noticed when booking. There was a TV in the shared room, though it didn’t smell very nice. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean. Coffee and tea were included, and breakfast was very good, but it was served in an unpleasant basement. They cleaned daily, though I’d have liked the option to opt out, as I don’t like having my things arranged and packed. It feels more like a hostel than a guesthouse, in an old building with very outdated furniture in the room and bathroom, plus ugly old shoes displayed on one wall. Heating comes from the air conditioning, and there was no ceiling lamp, as seems common in Portugal. The central location is close to everything, but my windows were above the restaurant and it was noisy. I had little contact with the hosts, who didn’t reply to WhatsApp messages unless there was a problem. For the price, I found it expensive, since I’d stayed in a three-star central hotel in Lisbon for the same money.

The design is charming, the staff are very friendly, and the breakfast menu is amazing. Such a cute spot, right in the centre of Cascais.

A lovely little find in central Cascais. It felt like a warm boutique hotel, with care and attention to detail throughout. The room was cosy and spacious, breakfast had plenty of variety, and the staff were attentive. Thanks, I hope to come back!
