Vila Gale Cascais Hotel & Resort

There are 17 of us in the group, and we loved this beautiful hotel, its perfect location, and everything about our stay. The staff were incredible, so friendly and kind. Andre at the front desk was absolutely wonderful, and Bruno at the bar was sweet, helpful, and professional. They both went above and beyond.

We loved the comfortable, cosy feel, the decor, and how clean everything was. Everyone provided excellent service, but Melane especially made us feel at ease with her lovely smile, friendliness, helpfulness, and wonderful sense of humour. Our children loved her, and so did we. My husband loved the experience too. We’ll definitely recommend her and come back. Thank you all for the excellent service!

We stayed over New Year’s Eve. The lighting in the rooms was disappointing, there weren’t many places to plug in electronics, and the outdated rooms felt very cold because the AC wasn’t working. For a four-star hotel, I think a lot is missing.

The hotel was very clean, from the rooms to the pool and grounds, and the breakfast buffet had a good range of options. The staff were generally helpful and friendly. Our main frustration was the front desk, though. We couldn’t get an answer when we called several times to request an item, so we went down to the lobby. The gentleman took our room number and said he’d send it up, but this happened three times with the same staff member, who each time seemed unaware we’d already asked. A senior staff member eventually stepped in and got it delivered. It took eight hours for what should have been a simple request. We also missed having a coffee machine or iron in the room. When we asked for an iron, we were told they don’t provide one and that housekeeping could press clothes for a fee. After a long time travelling, little conveniences like those can make a real difference.
