Quinta de Gildinho

We had a fantastic week. Manuel and Susana were always available, and all their tips made our stay much richer. Breakfast was divine. We’d come back and recommend it 💕

We felt truly welcome here. The hosts are attentive, well-read, and interesting, and they give detailed briefings on what to visit based on what you want to do. The house pairs a simple, minimalist feel with the farm’s rustic surroundings. There are good books to browse, and breakfast is a feast of produce from the farm. It couldn’t get less than the top rating.

Breakfast was a treat, full of excellent homemade dishes, and even the warm, crusty bread was a pleasure to touch. The comfortable mattress, the feel of bare feet on the warm, beautiful slate floor in the patio, all added to it. The sounds stay with you too: wind moving through the trees, quiet outside at night, and gentle music in the living room. In the morning there’s the smell of coffee, along with eucalyptus and warm earth. Everywhere you look there’s something lovely, from the surrounding nature and kiwi-fruit ceiling to the canastro beside the pool, the painting studio built into the beautiful house, the black piano, and the simple, harmonious furniture. Susana and Manuel deserve special mention for their kindness. I left with my soul full and already missing the place.
