Casa do Rio

We were three and stayed in apartment 10 for five nights, from August 27 to September 1. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with tasteful furnishings and quality bathrooms and appliances. The location is excellent, and checking in at Castelo Hotel was easy. The staff were friendly. It’s one of the nicest apartments I’ve stayed in, and I can’t wait to return. A few things could be improved: some cleaning items were missing, like a broom and dustpan or vacuum, and a kitchen dishcloth would’ve been useful. A few more utensils, such as small coffee cups and a bread knife, plus a tablecloth, would be welcome. Cleanliness could use a little more attention too. Thanks for everything.

In Chaves, these apartments are bright, spacious, clean, and fully equipped, with lovely decor and an excellent location. They’re in impeccable condition and have incredible views. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a dining room.

Right by the Roman bridge, the apartment has a lovely view over the river and makes it easy to visit the city. It offers good value, with luxury-style finishes, branded appliances, and both a dishwasher and washing machine. You can tell it’s a new place and may still be getting a few things sorted, but some essentials are missing: a hairdryer, an oven dish, a sponge and washing-up liquid for small loads, napkins, a food knife, a wooden spoon for cooking, and a dish rack. These items matter if the place is to match its quality. Check-in at 5 pm also feels a bit late.

We rented three apartments, all impressively spacious, well equipped, and in great condition. Everything felt new and very well looked after, and the cleaning was exceptional. The only thing we missed was a coffee maker. To be fair, with those prices we ate breakfast out every day anyway. Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back.
