Ester Guest House

Ester runs the house and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely, with homemade cakes and jams, and the service was excellent. It’s right in the center, too. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Chaves or nearby.

Ester was friendly and accommodating, and the bathroom was spacious, recently redone, and everything worked well. The location’s a big plus, close to both the bar streets and the historic center. There’s also a huge balcony, though the view wasn’t great; you could at least see the nearby medieval wall. We paid 50€ a night with breakfast included, which seemed fair. The room itself was extremely small, barely enough space for two average bags. Ours was farthest from the lobby and had no Wi-Fi signal. Breakfast was quite limited, mostly bread with cheese, ham and jam, plus yogurt and two cereal choices. There’s no dedicated parking, and the roads get crowded, so finding a spot may be tricky.

Ester welcomed us with tea and homemade cookies, and the room was spotless. We had a patio with chairs, too. Breakfast wasn’t a buffet, but the homemade jams and cookies made it even better, and the coffee was excellent ☕ The location is excellent. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back.
