The family who owns this place made me feel so welcome. I loved the fresh vegetables from the garden, homemade muffins, clean room, air conditioning, and the quality of everything. I stumbled across it and fell in love with it. One of the third generation bread ovens is nearly repaired and ready to feed people again. This is one of the best places I’ve ever had the privilege of staying, just right in every way.

We had a perfect stay at Refugio da Garca last week. The view was amazing, the service was excellent, and they made us feel welcome like family. We’ll definitely stay there again on our next visit to Chaves.

The welcome was so warm, and the people were friendly and full of useful local tips. Breakfast was wonderful, the pool was lovely, and everything was spotless. This attractive new small hotel is near Chaves and has a spectacular valley view. We had a perfect stay. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed. It had everything I hope for when booking a hotel.
