The room was fantastic, with lovely views and a great coffee machine. It’s close to everything, but across the bridge from Coimbra and outside the touristy area, so it’s quiet at night.

The views were a highlight, and the room was huge and clean. Waking up to the city scenery was perfect, and I even got to work out with that view. The place, location, and price are all solid, and Daniel was super friendly at check-in. He let us leave our bags at the office before check-in, then carried them up to our room once it was ready. We got the building, floor, and room access codes before arriving, so check-in was straightforward. There are several codes to keep track of, though, so I’d write them down somewhere handy. The building door, beside a gelato shop, also takes a bit of a push to open. I didn’t give the full five stars because the air conditioning took a while to cool the room after I turned it down from 23 to 20, and I woke up sweating. Road noise was also too much for me. Bikers and drivers were revving and speeding by in the middle of the night.

We’d planned to spend a couple of nights in Coimbra, but a national train strike meant we could only stay one. The Owner was very kind and helpful. The Staff were hospitable, the rooms were beautiful, and the location was great. Highly recommend.

We slept really well in the comfy memory foam bed, the only one we had in Portugal. Our room was great, and the owner was super helpful with good recommendations. It’s an easy walk to the waterfront, with AMAZING gelato and croissant places on the same block. There was construction upstairs on weekdays. If you sleep late or need afternoon naps, you might want to wait until it’s finished, but it didn’t bother us at all. A great place to explore Coimbra.
