The buffet breakfast was generous, with eggs, bacon, buns and bread, cereal, yoghurt, lots of fresh fruit, cheese, and cold cuts. Our room was large and clean, the beds were comfortable, and check-in and checkout were easy. The old part of Coimbra is within walking distance.

The receptionist was very nice and helpful, and the location was perfect. Parking is available, and you can also leave the car right outside on the street. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, but the layout was odd: the bathroom is right in front of the bed and isn't really separated. The toilet was dirty when we arrived, and there was no daily cleaning, which surprised me for a 4* hotel. Breakfast was just OK, without many options. It was served on an open terrace, which was fine, though I'd rather the food, including bread and marmalades, were kept out of the sun.

The staff were amazing, and the location was really good, about a 15-minute walk from the city center and major facilities. The hotel needs renovation, particularly the pool and spa center, and it definitely doesn't feel like a 4-star hotel. Rooms aren't cleaned every day. The bathroom and toilet are practically part of the room, without a door to separate them, which can be uncomfortable when staying with a girlfriend or friend.

We've stayed at Ibn-Arrik before, and it's always been a good experience. The location is perfect, parking is easy, and the staff are super friendly. Rooms are spotless, the pool is warm, and breakfast is plentiful.
