The staff made this stay for me, everyone was genuinely welcoming and ready to help. Hotel Mondego was spotless and modern, and its central spot meant plenty of good restaurants were an easy walk away. There’s no parking at the hotel itself, though a paid lot just around the corner was convenient and cost about $20 a night. I’d happily stay here again.

For the price, this is the best value hotel in Coimbra. The rooms and beds are nice, breakfast is very good, and the staff make you feel welcome. It’s also close to the center and the main sights.

The location worked well, and the reception and cleaning staff were both friendly and helpful. On my second day, the card for my room stopped working even though I’d booked two nights. A member of the cleaning team helped me get inside, and reception later fixed the card. I think it was a mistake, but no one explained what had happened or apologized for the inconvenience.

The room was really comfortable, and breakfast service was excellent. There’s a nice rooftop bar too. All the main attractions and monuments are within walking distance, and the staff service was even better than the great location. Highly recommended.

A very clean, modern hotel in a building that looks like it may date from the 1930s. Depending on where you look, it’s rated either 3 or 4 stars. I’d put it at about 3.5. If you’re arriving by car, take care and see my note at the end.
