Breakfast was lovely, with fruit fresh from the owner’s garden and homemade jams. The quince marmelada made by the owner herself was my favourite, such a labour of love. Raquel brought a sunshine smile and interesting conversation to the breakfast room each morning, and Clara’s warm welcome put us at ease right away. Our train from Lisbon was almost an hour late because of the strike. The room was spacious, with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The location was excellent for getting to tourist sites, food, cafés, and shops. João dos Leitões, known for its suckling pig, is just a 5-minute walk away. I hope we can come back for a longer stay!

The hotel is in a great spot, and Carla and the two younger guys at the front desk were absolutely wonderful. Sorry, I never learned their names. They were all helpful and just nice. I’d definitely stay here again.

Clara’s warm welcome made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Our train from Lisbon was almost an hour late because of the strike. The room was comfortable and spacious, with two joined king beds and soft pillows. Breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit from the owner’s garden and homemade jams. I especially liked the quince marmelada, made by the owner herself. What a labour of love! Thanks to Raquel for the sunshine smile and friendly chats each morning, and when we arrived after a late lunch. The location was great, close to tourist sites, cafés, shops, and restaurants. Coimbra University is 15 minutes away. Hope to return for a longer stay!
