This ended up being our favourite stop of the whole trip, even ahead of Lisbon and Porto. Moby Dick Lodge in Colares is gorgeous and peaceful, like a little hidden oasis. Breakfast is simple, and sitting among the greenery in the sunlight made it feel especially calm. Pedro and the team went well beyond what we expected. We arranged a great day tour with them to Sintra’s palaces, Cascais, and Cabo da Roca, and they also included two lovely seaside stops, Praia das Maçãs and Azenhas do Mar. Vincent, one of the volunteers, deserves a special mention. He’s such a kind, genuine person and made our stay even more special. Warm people, beautiful surroundings, and wonderful hospitality. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat! 🌿✨

I spent a whole month here and loved the experience. It’s clean, comfortable, and peaceful, just right for relaxing. There’s a supermarket around the corner and some lovely beaches nearby, while Sintra is only a 30-minute drive away. Pedro made me feel at home from the start. He’s welcoming and has a great sense of humor, which made the stay even better. The surf camp was another highlight. You can take lessons whether you’re experienced or new to surfing, or just rent a board and head out on your own. I can’t wait to come back!

We only stayed one night, but the room was very clean, quiet, and spacious. Check-in was quick and seamless, and someone met us at the door. Shops and restaurants are an easy walk away. Would recommend.
