The bed was huge and comfortable, and the place was clean, but the busy junction right outside meant a lot of traffic noise. The breakfast was okay, mostly sweet pastries with some cheese and ham, though there was no cooked food like at the other places we stayed. We hardly saw anyone, including at breakfast. As for the house itself, it’s very much a matter of taste. My husband was fine with it, but I found it unsettling, like staying in a museum. It’s packed with antiques, religious objects and paintings, mixed in a strange way with 1960s and 70s furniture and fittings. Our “bedroom” was actually the front room by the entrance, furnished with a 70s sofa and armchair, old fashioned lights, an antique wardrobe and pictures. We expected to meet the host, but the woman who greeted us seemed to be a staff member. Since it was Sunday night, we asked about places to eat. She wasn’t sure what was open and mentioned one place with rather vague directions. We walked there and found it shut, then kept going until we came across a bar serving food. On the way back we spotted an open restaurant near the B&B. We could have been given clearer information about where to eat and which places were open. It was adequate, but not amazing.

We were upgraded to a larger room overlooking the garden, which was perfect. We had a really nice stay, and the place is wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. A special thank you to the woman who stayed past the end of her shift to wait with our luggage. Thank you 🩷

A beautiful place in a handy spot, just a short drive from Sintra. Breakfast was delicious, parking was available, and we felt very safe. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was spectacular, plentiful, varied, and luxurious. The owner said the croissants are made in house. I also loved my spacious room and comfortable bed, and the whole place was immaculate. The chalet has a welcoming sitting room, tea and a sherry bar, plus a pool and gym, though I chose to stretch in my room. The house is beautifully furnished with an eclectic, hip style that never feels fussy. The owner was super friendly and generous, and I liked the little decorative touches throughout.

We had a surprisingly pleasant stay and would definitely return or recommend it. The staff were welcoming, polite and very friendly, and breakfast was good. The shared spaces were nicely decorated, and our spacious room was comfortable, cosy and lovely to look at. The little boutique hotel is beautifully maintained and sits not far from Sintra and the coast. If I had to pick one small downside, the view was of the car park at the nearby pharmacy, which didn't impress us.
