We found it convenient for Coimbra and close to the highway, but there was no traffic noise. The building has plenty of character, and our room was comfortable. The spa was really nice, breakfast was pretty good, and everything was sparkling clean. The staff were amazing from our first moment to the last, across reception, the restaurant, spa, and housekeeping. They deserve all the compliments.

We spent a couple of nights here with our toddler. The building, decor, bedroom, and general atmosphere made for a pleasant, classy stay, all five star. The restaurant fell short of our expectations, and the bar staff could have been better. The spa is open to the public, so there were lots of outside visitors, which made the experience worse. The spa itself wasn’t very clean, and the equipment and facilities overall didn’t feel posh.

The service was friendly and professional, and the rooms were luxurious and really good. It’s a fantastic hotel, decorated with taste and elegance, with a beautiful lobby and great amenities: an outdoor pool, spa, sauna, and massage treatments.

The building is historic and beautiful, and it gives the hotel a lot of charm. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly, and we appreciated that. Our first room had a strong moldy smell. A younger receptionist understood and said they could move us the following day, so we offered to leave our room early to make that easier. But when we checked back, a more senior receptionist gave us a cold look and firmly said the room change wouldn’t happen, that it had been a mistake. Her harsh attitude caught us off guard and left us disappointed. The next day, other staff explained that laundry service problems had delayed the change because the other room wasn’t ready. That made sense, and if we’d been told this earlier, there wouldn’t have been any problem. It’s a shame, since the rest of the team were lovely and professional. We hope this was an unfortunate exception, as the other staff really made an effort.

We had a lovely stay at the Conimbriga Hotel do Paço. The room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony over the gardens, and it was quiet. Breakfast was self-service, with a good range of hot options like bacon and scrambled eggs as well as a cold buffet. I’d recommend it.
