The balcony and large side window were a real highlight, with ocean views, sunsets, and rooftops to look out at. We spent four nights at MS Aparthotel in Lisbon and had a spacious room with a fully equipped kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised to find a washing machine in the room, too. Getting around was easy with local supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and the secure, ample parking suited us well since we had a car. There are indoor and outdoor pools, and the price felt very reasonable for what you get. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The location is a drawback if you want to be in central Lisbon. It takes about 1 hour 15 minutes by bus, and the village centre is a 20-minute walk away. Still, the aparthotel was lovely and spotlessly clean, with a well-equipped flat and all the amenities we needed. Some furniture could use a refresh, but it didn't affect our stay. The big pool, hot tub, and gym were great to have. The restaurant served a variety of well-prepared dishes at reasonable prices for a four-star hotel.

The restaurant spaces seem to be the only areas that have been renovated. There was a sign in the elevator about renovations, though it wasn't clear how extensive they were. In our room, the dated furniture kept coming apart and needed fixing several times, and the floors and furniture were heavily scratched. The lobby also felt stuck in the 1970s. Wallpaper was peeling in the common hallways, and there was visible mold in the shower and pool area. We were there over Christmas, our first stay here after trying many other hotels in Portugal. The daily breakfast buffet got boring, with only one or two changes to the pastries and fruit each day. Service varied. It was best in the Garden restaurant, while the front desk staff were only so-so in friendliness and made us feel more like an inconvenience. I was also surprised that they required full payment upfront, which has never been asked of me before. Would I stay again? Absolutely not. This isn't a four-star hotel, and I'm not sure how the reviews make it seem like one.

Parking on site was a nice bonus, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and came with lots of great amenities. I didn't get to use the pool or gym, but I walked through both areas and they looked to be in good condition.

The chicken at the restaurant was disappointing. It had a strange taste and seemed to have been reheated before serving, so it was dry and hadn't been cooked properly. The staff were friendly, and there's free parking around the hotel. It's a fine place to stay, but it seems to have seen better days.
