The ocean sunsets were unforgettable, and we’re already talking about coming back. Our hotel was right on the waterfront in Espinho, near Porto, with beautiful sea views. Diogo made us feel so welcome, even bringing fresh pastries from the local bakery each morning. A lovely place for a relaxing stay.

The owners were a big part of why I enjoyed this hostel so much. They were friendly, always willing to help, and made me feel like I was visiting family friends. It was peaceful enough to really unwind, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The interior was lovely, too. There are cafés and shops in the historic part of town, with the beach close by. I’d like to stay here again.

Fresh bread baked each day made breakfast a treat, and everything was neat and clean. I’ve stayed at 18 St. Hostel twice, once with a friend and once on my own, and both times the owners made me feel like a welcome guest in their family home. They shared advice on places to eat and shop, and even lent me a wind shield for a breezy day at the beach. The hostel is five minutes from the train station and five minutes from the beach and restaurant area. I’d happily come back.

Diogo was so welcoming and made sure I was comfortable, like I was part of the family. The hostel has loads of character and is only a two-minute walk from the beach. We’ll definitely return.

The hosts were wonderful and the place had a real family feel. It was spotless, too. Right by the main strip and the beaches, and the host’s recommendations were spot on.
