Green Coast Surfhouse

Breakfast is free and includes bread, cheese, a slice of meat, and coffee or tea. The kitchen is fully equipped, the staff are friendly, and everything was very clean. Wi-Fi worked well and the shower was nice. There are lots of windows, plus blackout blinds. It’s right by the beach, but construction next door means you’ll want earplugs if you plan to sleep past 7.

The location made getting around easy, with local restaurants nearby, both train stations within an easy walk, and the beach just a block away. Breakfast was included at a beachside cafe and bar, a lovely ten-minute walk away, where the staff were just as welcoming. Milene, who looks after the guest house in the mornings, was especially helpful and friendly. She showed me around, cheerfully helped with the washing machine and powder, and I appreciated having my own fridge shelf and cupboard, along with complimentary coffee, tea, and a bowl of fruit. The five rooms shared two bathrooms without any trouble, and the sunny living spaces felt homely. My small twin room had plenty of hanging space and a handy fold-down desk. Fresh air came through the windows and doors, and the scented sticks and candles made the place feel cared for and welcoming. A lovely stay for a reasonable price in an authentic Portuguese seaside town.

We tried this guesthouse last night on our Portugal road trip, and I’d highly recommend it. It’s charming, tidy, very clean, and well located, with the beach close by and lots of good restaurants around. Rodrigo was warm and friendly, and we enjoyed the breakfast. We’ll come back :)

I only needed a room for one night, but the place made me feel right at home. It was cosy, clean, and well organised. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay, and I’ll come back the next time I’m passing through.
